2019 Ford Mustang Ecoboost Premium features and specs

Mustang
Ford dropped the naturally aspirated V6 from its Mustang range last year, which meant the EcoBoost trim level then became the entry point to the modern Mustang family. The Mustang is still the first name most people will think of when it comes to an affordable sports car, but buyers who want a little more spec than the entry model can get the 2019 Ford Mustang EcoBoost Premium for a relatively small amount of extra money. So, let's have a look at the features and specifications of the Ford Mustang EcoBoost Premium trim level.

Powertrain

It's probably not too unfair to suggest some observers and enthusiasts weren't particularly enamored at the thought of a four-cylinder under the hood of this current generation of the Mustang when details were originally announced. However, you won’t hear too many complaints about this engine now people have experienced it and got used to the idea. The basic facts speak for themselves. This 2.3-liter turbo-four develops 310 horsepower and 350 lb.-ft. of torque, and that's good for a 0 to 60 mph time well under the six-second mark. There's plenty of performance available from this powerplant, but it's also perfect for cruising around the town or city, and the fuel economy is another reason to like it.

Features

On top of the entry-level EcoBoost standard features, the EcoBoost Premium also gets Selectable Drive Modes with four-gang toggle switch pack, and this allows the driver to choose between Normal, Sport+, Track, Drag Strip and Snow/Wet modes. The infotainment system is also upgraded to Ford Sync 3, and that means an eight-inch LCD capacitive touchscreen, 911 Assist, AppLink, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and a couple of smart-charging USB ports. Interior upgrades include features like six-way power, heated and cooled leather-trimmed front seats; an AM/FM stereo with nine speakers and amplifier; SiriusXM with a six-month trial subscription; aluminum accelerator, brake and clutch pedals; ambient lighting with MyColor; angled brush aluminum instrument panel trim; bright-finish door speaker surrounds and dual-zone electronic automatic temperature control.

Outside, the EcoBoost Premium benefits from the addition of rear parking sensors, heated side view mirrors with integrated turn signal indicators, illuminated door-sill scuff plates, premium door trim including soft rollover, a universal garage door opener, LED fog lamps, a decklid spoiler and pony projection lamps. While there's nothing wrong with the very smart 17-inch alloy wheels the EcoBoost comes standard with, the standard 18-inch machined-face and high-gloss Ebony Black-Painted Pocket alloys the EcoBoost Premium comes with are a big upgrade.

Available options

Like the base EcoBoost model, the EcoBoost Premium is also available with some upgrade packages like the Enhanced Security Package and the Ford Safe and Smart Package. The Enhanced Security Package includes an active anti-theft system, an electronic-locking center console, an electronic steering column lock and wheel locks, and the Safe and Smart Package includes many advanced safety features like adaptive cruise control and forward collision warning with brake support.

EcoBoost Premium models can also be upgraded with Recaro sport leather-trimmed front seats and a premium B&O sound system.
